A Shout Out To Grandparents

Benefit of Age

Like children we lay in the grass,

our faces warmed by the sun,

in wonder gazing at the clouds

seeing fairy tales one by one.

We see a myriad of animals

scuttling across the blue,

our minds reverted to childhood

as years melt like dew.

Reaching out hands to little teachers

lying close by

who spirit-guide us to truths

that are hidden in the sky.

Don't wonder why grandparents

have a smile and a twinkling eye

for they learned to play once again

as the years went passing by.
